

You are invited to submit an abstract for the opportunity to present your research at the 2026 NYSSOS Annual Meeting and Symposium, taking place Friday and Saturday, November 20–21, 2026, at The Saratoga Hilton in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Abstracts will be accepted in the following categories for medical students, residents, fellows, and candidate members:

Abstract Eligibility
Original abstracts that either have or have not been presented at other meetings will be considered. Presentation of original work at the NYSSOS Annual Meeting may, however, affect eligibility for presentation before another society. Authors are encouraged to review the rules of any other society or meeting where they intend to submit the same work.
NYSSOS Membership Requirement and Author Eligibility
Residents/Fellows: The first author of an abstract must be a NYSSOS Candidate Member and must be either a resident or enrolled in a fellowship program. Co-authors are encouraged to be NYSSOS members. | Medical Students: |
Authors who are not currently members should complete the appropriate NYSSOS membership process before submitting an abstract.
Number of Entries Residents/Fellows: An author may submit up to four abstracts to the abstract competition. Presentation Formats If your abstract is accepted, it may be selected for one of the following formats:
Attendance Requirement Presenters selected for oral presentations, Rapid-Fire presentations, or hard poster presentations must attend the meeting in person. If the original submitter is unable to attend, an alternate presenter may be assigned, if individual is attending the meeting and is not presenting another abstract. Rapid-Fire Session The Rapid-Fire Scientific Session will take place on Friday, November 20, 2026, from 5:00–6:00 PM. This fast-paced session features brief, focused presentations from orthopaedic residents, fellows, and medical students, highlighting innovative research, clinical outcomes, and quality improvement initiatives, with moderated discussion focused on practical takeaways. If the first author is unable to attend, a second author may present in their place. The presenting second author must also be a NYSSOS Candidate Member to be eligible. Only the first author, as listed on the abstract, is eligible to receive an award, regardless of who presents the research. Resident submissions will be combined during the judging process but evaluated separately. Poster and E-Poster Presentations Hard posters and E-Posters will be displayed Friday afternoon and throughout Saturday. Selected oral presentations will take place Saturday afternoon. Awards Presentation Top presentations will be recognized during the meeting, with awards presented Saturday afternoon. Award recipients must be present at the meeting to receive their award.
